Numerous online articles allege that Facebook tracks and collects PHI information on healthcare websites. Facebook refutes these claims yet is now being sued.
Eruptr leads the way in driving accountable healthcare advertising.
When it comes to brainstorming and building and implementing tactics, we approach all campaigns from a conservative perspective. With that said, we understand the concerns hospital marketers are currently facing over use of the Meta pixel, but please know, keeping client and patient information safe is our top priority.
Automatic Advanced Matching
One of the main ways Facebook collects information is through an option called Automatic Advanced Matching. This setting allows Facebook to automatically try to match a visitor’s information provided through data submitted on your website back to Facebook. The code that does this can inadvertently capture sensitive data.
Eruptr takes responsible campaign management seriously.
We do not use any Manual Advanced Matching and have always conservatively opted clients out of the other available Advanced Matching data that Facebook offers. We will always look out for your interests first.
To ensure as much privacy as possible, we keep all Automatic (and Manual) Advanced Matching options disabled for the Meta pixel to further protect data. We advise all clients to disable this feature for any client-owned Meta pixels or other Meta pixels that may be on your website(s) from other vendors or agencies. We recommend keeping campaigns running, while still tracking conversions through this approach.
Future Safeguards
Additionally, we are looking into research and development opportunities to continue to protect our clients in the ever-evolving landscape of digital transformation, tracking and privacy. Throughout our entire existence, we have maintained a conventional approach and remain steadfast in that direction.
